Here's an outfit recap from last week. Maybe it can inspire you in building your outfits for the week to come and maybe push you to document them in some way!

Monday
A colorful yet toned-down look I wore to start of the week: a navy sleeveless turtleneck you could probably thrift or find in any department store. I think the turtleneck gives it a more formal touch, balancing out the lack of sleeves, which makes this a great option for warmer months. An olive green pair of trousers from NV, burgundy flats from Cyan and a black Longchamp tote with an animal print scarf tied the strap. I love this outfit, something about the harmony these colors create makes me feel at peace.
Tuesday
I've been in quite a black and white mood lately. I would argue that even though one might usually describe this color combo as classic, basic or timeless, black and white can actually be anything you want it to because of how incredibly versatile it is. This day I went for simple, understated and textured by pairing it with mostly brown-ish accessories:
For work: a straight black skirt from NV (I love this brand for tailored items), sleeveless white top from your run-of-the-mill department store, Longchamp tote with the same scaarf and the silver Tory Burch Reeva flats I got earlier this year, which I talked about here;
For running errands: kept the same top for practical purpuses, exchanged the skirt for a pair of textured satin black pants from Zara, picked up the rafia tote I've been loving lately from Lenny Niemeyer and stayed true to my roots with a pair of white Havaianas;
For going out to dinner with friends: we were going to a pretty chill, eat-at-the-sidewalk type of restaurant, so I went for an off-white pair of jeans with contrasting stitching (a detail I recently learned I adore) from Maria Filó, a thrifted dark gray Banana Republic vest and chose to add a little delicate touch to an otherwise masculine outfit with a pair of black strappy block heels (Sonho dos pés) and a dark brown crocodile leather shoulder bag (a hand-me-down from my grandma).
Wednesday
Another day of work, another day for the black Longchamp tote to prove its worth. I usually try planning my outfits for the week around one or two bags so I can minimize the item exchange rate between bags, which this week also included the animal print scarf. I wore it with a pair of - you guessed it - NV dark purple wool trousers, a color that gets me the closest to luxurius vampire decadence that is also acceptable in real everyday life. I paired it with a simple white tee, slightly oversized gray sweater from Zara and a pair of black mary janes I've worn out so much they're practicaly molded to my feet (from Arezzo).
I've been progressively shopping less and less from places like Zara, but I still have a lot of items left from the days when I didn't really know what I wanted to shop for and where to look for it, so I just ended up going to Zara. A lot of stuff I bought I probably wouldn't buy again, but this gray sweater really is one of those department store gems. I love it, I wear it all the time - it's comfy, it's warm… when it's good, it's good, no matter where it's from.
Thursday
Another day of work featuring a recent acquisition (literally from the day before), a black top from the brand UMA, which can be found on farfetch. It's called the contrast-stitching V neck top and it's on sale right now! I'm absolutely obsessed with this top. It's so flattering, so comfortable, and so beautiful in an understated way. I paired it with a pair of black flowy pants from Zara - these are an OG, I bought them like 10 years ago and they've really stood the test of time - the Tory Burch silver Reevas and a burgundy leather Longchamp hobo bag I found secondhand a few years ago.
Friday
Finally a day of rest, which means comfort is the word. I wore an old black tank top that I think was my mom's once upon a time and paired it with 100% cotton white wide-leg pants (Panô) that have a sort of linnen-like texture to them, but since they're actually cotton they don't crease as easily. Here I'm wearing white Havaianas yet again, which are my usual at-home footwear of choice, and I just want to make it clear that this is a different pair from the one I wore outside the other day (I have a lot of Havaianas) - no street shoes in the house, thank you.
Saturday
Saturday was an unusually busy social day for me. Since I’d be working on sunday, I had an early Easter lunch with my dad at his place, so the idea was chill, comfy, but still thoughtful. I wore my thrifted uniqlo navy pleated skirt, a white knit tank top from Maria Filó and two of my best secondhand finds ever: a pair of black Prada strappy sandals and a Tods suede hobo bag.
At night I went to an event at a friend’s house, a sort of drinks and bites situation. I had originally planned for an entirely different outfit, but, as I tried things on and pulled things off, this look came to be. I think what I achieved here was just the right touch of that allusive effortlessness we so often strive for but so rarely reach. It was also a perfect balance of the high-low mentality I tend to follow.
I wore my faithful black Zara pants and a long thrifted top with an open-knit pattern over an old black lace bralette. I pared it with the same pair of black strappy heels I wore on tuesday, a little Balenciaga clutch that was passed on from my grandma and, the true star of the show, a Van Cleef inspired mother-of-pearl necklace from a fine jewelery store called Sobotka (unfortunately I think the brand no longer exists), which I was very lucky to have been gifted for a past special birthday.
Sunday
Yes, I worked the Easter day shift at the hospital. I was surviving on very few hours of sleep and hanging on to the knowledge that I could rest on monday. Whenever I’m feeling too tired to use my brain power for anything that isn’t absolutely necessary I go for my tried and true outfits. Today it’s a cream pair of pants from BoBô and a simple white tee from Hering paired with contrasting black accessories: a black Mango leather belt, black leather loafers (Meu sapato preto), black cashmere V-neck sweater (shop2gether) and the same black Longchamp bag I’d worn earlier this week.
This is it for this week’s looks! I know a lot of the brands I wear are brazillian and some aren’t available worldwide, but hopefully this means you’ll be more inclined to shop your closet rather than shop someone else’s. If there’s any item you truly like and feel like it would be a good addition to your collection, please reach out! I’d be happy to help you find something similar that’s available in your region and I can also send pics of the item to help out on the hunt ;)
